More about this artwork

In the painting "August Metamorphosis" by Jūratė Kadusauskaitė, a serene yet animated tableau unfolds through a palette of soft pastels and vivid greens. Broad, sweeping strokes of pale pink, light blue, and lilac form an ethereal background, blurred at the edges as if caught in a gentle motion or a soft gust of wind. A series of abstract shapes and lines in darker tones emerge from beneath this misty veil, lending a sense of depth and complexity.Foregrounded in rich, earthy greens and dark browns, organic forms suggest vegetation or land, grounding the dreamlike quality of the scene. A cluster of what could be interpreted as foliage, flowers, or even abstract creatures occupies the central area, rendered through spontaneous and expressive brushwork. Intermittent splashes of orange and red invigorate the composition with warmth and a dynamic energy. The juxtaposition of calm, diffused hues with bold, spontaneous strokes creates an overall impression of a landscape undergoing transformation. The painting resonates with a sense of growth and change, as if nature itself is shifting and evolving in the embrace of late summer.

Jūratė Kadusauskaitė paints mostly abstractions, does not stick to specific shapes and plays with colour spots, lines, improvises freely, experiments with unexpected colour combinations, brushstrokes, sometimes adding decorative details or pattern elements. She remains faithful to this style even when painting landscapes.

Her paintings are excellent mirrors of her emotions, feelings and impressions. Each of them opens the door to the artist's inner world, but the abstract expression makes them relatable, the associative language of colours and expressive brushstrokes puts them in contact with the viewer, who, upon closer inspection, will recognise his or her own experiences on the canvas.

Since 1996, Kadusauskaitė has held 6 solo exhibitions and also participates in joint exhibitions and plein-airs.
