The work employs both realistic and abstract methods of representation in equal measure, supplementing the plastic language of the work with single or grouped coloured squares, reminiscent of pixels in a digital image, in individual areas of the canvas. They are an important detail in all the works, used as another layer of the work, suggesting some kind of signs of temporality - like fragments of a crumbling reality, or streams of imaginary codes that seem to be completely out of our control.
The intention is to destroy the illusion of a recognisable reality and present it as the result of a clearly recycled, or at least disturbed, image. The aim is to get as close as possible to doubt as a liminal state and to ask: how and to what extent does what is seen actually correspond to reality, and what is our own relationship to it?
