Artist

The works of artist Liutauras Griežė have been exhibited in various places  in Lithuania, and his works have been acquired by many collectors in Lithuania and abroad. The artist creates exterior and interior sculptures, three-dimensional compositions, participates in creative sculpture, painting and ceramics workshops.

"I use a variety of materials in my work, from the classical (wood, metal, stone) to the unconventional (ice, fire, etc.). Through my art I discover myself. My hero is the individual human being and the spiritual path that each of us inevitably follows. With the help of solid material I find my way into the heart and soul of the human being in order to inspire myself and others for a better and more meaningful future.

The core of my work is a Man. A Man, a living being is the greatest mystery and value, without man there is nothing and everything is because of man. Therefore, by observing myself and others, I find meaning and purpose, the inevitable, the purpose of the Human Hero. We are all heroes and in the context of our personal lives we must inevitably have a purpose, otherwise we perish in meaninglessness and misery. Every day we are confronted with an infinite number of options of how to behave and in spite of everything we prevail, we choose our behaviour, our behaviour is the path of our life, it is the search for a balance between order and chaos.

The perfect Hero or Man is the one who, when faced with danger (chaos, evil), does not run away or get scared, but fights and defeats what threatens him and others. Such Heroes are celebrated by all cultures and civilisations of the world. I believe that we are the descendants of such people and it is our duty to continue the good deeds today and as far into the future as possible".
