Artist

Creativity – for me is a way to make a person's life meaningful, to express yourself as a personality, it is a way to escape from the daily routine, to give joy and positive emotions. In my works, between colors and shapes, you can find love and anxiety, frustration and hope, faith and dreams. Everything that you cannot say in words.

I was born and raised in Kaunas, Lithuania. I graduated from Kaunas University of Technology and Vilnius Academy of Arts. I have been participating in exhibitions since 1994 and organized 15 personal exhibitions in various Lithuanian cities. I participated in over 50 joint exhibitions, plein airs, biennials at my home country and across Europe. In the year 2000, I published the first Lithuanian schoolbook for fine arts "Fundamentals of Art History and Art Cognition". I have been a member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association since 2009.

In my art work I am combining realistic fragments, elements and imagination. Most of my works are painted with oil on canvas. My paintings have been acquired by various institutions and private individuals in Lithuania and abroad (USA, Australia, various European countries).

Yours Sincerely, Janina Celiešienė
