More about this artwork

The painting captures a serene, natural landscape centered around a reflective body of water, likely a pond or small lake. It is dominated by two prominent trees with gnarled and twisting trunks, suggesting age and resilience. These trees have a rich texture, with bark that is rugged and varied in tone. Their branches stretch out wide, filled with lush green leaves, creating a canopy that frames the top part of the scene. The water is calm, mirroring the trees and the dense foliage that surrounds the pond. This reflection doubles the visual impact of the trees, making them appear as if they are growing both upwards towards the sky and downwards into the earth. The surface of the water acts like a mirror, blending the line between reality and reflection. In the background, there is a more densely wooded area with various shades of green, giving depth and complexity to the scene. The light filtering through the leaves creates patches of brightness and shadow, adding a dynamic contrast to the tranquility of the setting. On the far right, there is a hint of an open grassy area, perhaps a meadow, which offers a slight break in the density of the woodland.Overall, the painting evokes a sense of peacefulness and natural beauty, inviting the viewer to pause and reflect, much like the quiet waters depicted.

As long as I can remember, I have always drawn. From the first grade, I attended the drawing group of the famous watercolorist Živilė Kairytė, later I studied at A. Vienožinskis art school. My teachers were such famous Lithuanian artists as Arvydas Šaltenis, Juozapas Miliūnas, Algimantas Švėgžda, Vytautas Pečiukonis, sculptor Dalia Matulaitė and others. Later, I studied painting privately. All my works are drawn and painted from nature. I draw in pastels and paint landscapes, still lifes, acts in oils, but my great passion is portraits. I always try not only to reproduce human features, but most importantly - to convey the inner world, emotions, mood. While painting, I try to understand the delicate beauty and uniqueness of nature and man, while adding the warmth of my heart.
