Angelija's paintings in our gallery stand out for their liveliness - the expressive brushstrokes, splashes and runs of colour seem to ripple as wild as nature itself, and the colours are fresh, with lots of greens and blues, contrasted by the bright yellows of the sun.
Angelija's landscapes enchant with their wide vistas, their seemingly limitless horizons. This impression is created not only by the large canvases, but also by the multidimensional composition. Angelija breaks the landscape down into many planes, each of which, together with the brushstroke, stretches, snarls, and bends in its own way, creating the impression of constant movement, constant motion and the harmony that results. Vegetation is an integral part of Angelija's work as she is a member of the Lithuanian Dendrological Society. "Plants are not only a strong passion of mine, but they are also like a meditation for me, and by painting them I begin to get to know them more, to understand their character." What we like most about Angelija's work is her clear sense of drive, which, as she says, is inherent in her work, and which comes through in the way she paints - it's obvious that such vigorous, dynamic brushstrokes can only come from a strong emotion.
Her expressive, vivid and memorable works look best in minimalist spaces and modern interiors, where the effect of contrast and juxtaposition is created.
