Leonid Bagriy was born in 1974 in Khmelnytsky. Lives and works in Odessa.
Since 1999 participates in international group and solo exhibitions.
The artist is based on the main ideas of Impressionism, but in his creative path he also turns to various modern art and post-impressionist approaches. In his works, the artist seeks to pierce the veil of reality and look into the essence of things, into their energetic volume. Naturally, in this way, the works often veer into abstraction. Concrete images and phenomena dissolve in patches of colour and reunite in a new, different form, reflecting the author's inner worldview. Looking at the artist's works, it seems that you are about to see something, you are about to recognise something, but the image constantly escapes, leaving only an evoked memory, a feeling, a mood of the moment.
Curator of various art projects at Artery Art Studio and ARTODESSA Gallery.
