More about this artwork

In the painting, a historical military structure, possibly a bunker or part of a fortification, is captured in a serene landscape. The main feature is a large, partially underground building with multiple arches, exhibiting weathered brickwork. It sits beneath a field edged by a lush tree line showing varying shades of green and touches of autumnal gold. The grassy foreground gently slopes towards the fort, dotted with small flowers or foliage, leading the eye to a central, narrow pathway that divides the scene symmetrically. To the left, a small tree with delicate leaves overhangs slightly, adding a touch of intimacy to the setting. A few logs lay scattered on the ground near the structure, suggesting recent human activity or the remnants of a site once busier than the tranquil state now depicted.

Artist

Believe it or not, I can actually draw. (Jean Michel Basquiat)

My love affair with drawing began in childhood. First came the mighty pencil - my children's comics received an abundance of attention when they were published in a newspaper. Consequently for which, I received my first prize when I was a mere twelve year old. It is only later that I started to discover the wonderful world of colours and the myriad of its possibilities. I am cordially grateful to my artist parents to whom I am indebted for their shared knowledge of this area. For me, art is a self - expression which helps to convey my thoughts and desires to others. My constant aim is creation of paintings which create jubilation and not melancholy. Mostly, I use acrylics but never pass an opportunity to try new techniques - therefore I enjoy experimenting. Already, my paintings have found their new homes in various corners of the world. Am appreciative that I have an opportunity to continue my work in addition to amelioration. I live in Europe - in Lithuania, which also has prolific talents. I work in artistic area and try to keep updated with art news I endeavour to offer such works which would reflect the competitive and sought - after profiles. I wish for my paintings to achieve their purpose - to gratify the viewer, bestow upon him a cluster of pleasant emotions. As a (professional) historian, I know that in life, which is so dynamic, what remains is real - the humanity, the kindness, the friendliness.
