More about this artwork

In the painting, soft hues of white and pale grey form a serene still life. Featured centrally are a tall vase, a handle-equipped creamer, and a round, lidded container with a simple metal handle, each rendered with delicate shading that suggests their volume and texture. These objects are placed atop a rectangular platform that lends a three-dimensional effect by casting a subtle shadow. Below this assembly and slightly to the foreground, a scallop seashell lies with its characteristic ribbed texture, adding a natural element to the grouping. The muted background of light grey further accentuates the quiet, contemplative mood of the scene. The overall effect is calming and understated, inviting the viewer into a world of gentle, diffused light and soft reflections.

Artist

The artist was born and grew up in Darbėnai, a town in Žemaitija. She has been living and working in Panevėžys for more than thirty years.

In recent years, she has been devoting more and more time to painting. She draws ideas and inspiration for her art from the environment around her, from nature, various places in our region, and from the moments she has seen and captured on her travels around the world.

She likes to depict what is real, natural and familiar, which is why her favourite subjects are landscapes and still lifes. It is important to the artist that the painting (image) she creates is lively, colourful, conveys the impression of naturalness, evokes positive feelings.
