More about this artwork

The painting portrays a woman emerging seemingly from a shower, depicted with an evocative blend of realism and abstraction. Her head is wrapped in a towel, and she holds another towel with one hand, partially draped across her body. The background and her figure are executed in a mix of soft blues, whites, and neutral tones, with dynamic, swirling brushstrokes that suggest both movement and a subtle interplay of light and shadow. The woman's expression is contemplative, her gaze directed slightly downwards and away, adding an intimate and introspective quality to the scene. The overall atmosphere is one of tranquility and the raw, fleeting beauty of a private moment.

Artist

Jonas Kunickas i expressive and vivacious, with vivid eyes, a smile from ear to ear, and sometimes calm as a river, sometimes serious as a mountain standing for a thousand years. And it doesn't take long to realise that this man is sincere and open, just the way he is.

You only have to see Jonas' work to realise that this is real and not fake. That is the main source of Kunickas' inspiration - REAL. There is nothing contrived or embellished in these paintings. These are women with perfect imperfections, these are Goddesses who are good to look at, who are close to you, who are sincere. According to Kunickas, the human body is God's most beautiful creation. All of his works are born, when painting knife and a palette of oil paints sit comfortably in his talented hands. "When I tried to paint with a spatula, I just realised that I had found what I had been looking for for a very long time. After picking up the spatula, I quickly discovered my own way of painting. Now I hardly use brushes anymore," says Jonas Kunickas about his painting technique.

His paintings find a home not only in Lithuania, but also in America, Canada, Australia, Russia and many European countries.
