"The different elements in me are not only struggling, in a way they complement each other. There is order in my paintings. Yes, I am not a contemporary artist who appreciates chaos, chance or spontaneous deviations. I don't admire that, so in that sense I am a classical artist. The paintings may have an abstract style, but my compositions are refined, the tonal and colour values have to be in harmony. I am like Euclid, for whom the harmony of the spheres, of the sizes, is very important, and harmony is a kind of hidden relationship," the artist says about his work.
The landscape genre dominates in the work of Viktoras Binkis, and the artist himself says that it is inexhaustible for him: "It is an ideal laboratory for exploring the possibilities of the plastic means of painting, and for critically analysing and renovating one's own creative competences." The works transform the Lithuanian landscape, which is indelibly imprinted in the memory, into a dramatic, even slightly dreamlike spectacle through interesting viewing angles, compositional and colour solutions.
The artist was born in 1957.
Graduated from the Vilnius Art Institute in 1988, majoring in painting.

The artist has held over twenty solo exhibitions.
