More about this artwork

The painting depicts a woman's strikingly expressive face, framed by wavy, auburn hair that falls loosely around her shoulders. Her features are finely drawn, with piercing blue eyes that hold a gaze with intense clarity. A symbol, resembling a moon or a mark, is placed subtly on her forehead, accentuating a mystical or celestial connection that she seems to embody. The most distinctive part of the artwork is the pair of large, dark, and textured hoops that envelop either side of her head, resembling the horns of a ram. This motif enhances the mythological influence and central theme of the painting, potentially symbolizing the astrological sign Aries, often represented by a ram.Her skin is pale, adorned with delicate vein-like lines that suggest a form of otherworldly map or pattern, contributing to the overall ethereal and mysterious aura. The use of shadow and light on her skin is soft yet precise, giving her a lifelike appearance. The artwork's background is stark, focusing all attention on the subject herself.

I am Kamilė Stanevičiūtė - glass artist, jeweller and watercolourist, who presents her works under the pseudonym "Mili.sekundės". I am a member of the Lithuanian Artists' Union and an author with the status of an artist approved by the Ministry of Culture.

Currently my main body of work has been inspired by the moon and its movement, and the constellations visible in the skies. The series "Moon Women" are personified astrological portraits, the unique features of each constellation under the influence of the moon. The moon itself symbolises the desire to delve into the subconscious, to look back into the past and surrender to deep feelings, to irrational human nature.
