RaiMau - real name Romas Usavičius
Born and raised in Vilnius, lived abroad for a long time, but returned to Lithuania in the summer of 2018 and now lives surrounded by nature.
The young artist says that painting is a window into his inner world, which is why the range of genres is so wide - from still life to abstraction. The artist wants to capture interesting objects, stuck places and feelings. The artist does not shy away from trying out different techniques, and he is always keen to discover new means of expression. He experiments with various techniques and objects from the household, sometimes using vintage photographs and old newspapers.
The leitmotif that accompanies the work is the windows from which sometimes the people in vintage photographs look out, sometimes the lives of strangers are painted. For the artist, the window has taken on a symbolic meaning, that of a glimpse into the lives and souls of others.
