Andrius Makarevičius was born on 13 October 1982 in Pabrade.
In 2005 he graduated from Vilnius Pedagogical University, Bachelor of Arts.
Since 2003, the artist has been holding solo exhibitions and actively participating in group exhibitions and projects. Since 2017 he is a member of the Lithuanian Artists' Union.
What you can't really say about the work of Andrius Makarevičius is that it is sweet or frivolous. The author does not shy away from sharp, uncomfortable topics and conveys them in rich, thick brushstrokes that combine to create a dreamlike reflection of our everyday life, where proportions are distorted, colours deceive us, and human figures often take on animal body parts. At the same time, the artist does not lack humour and is able to approach every subject with a light irony and remain open-minded. The main theme of his work is the human being, his relationship with himself and his surroundings, the contrast between inner and outer space.
The artist's works have been acquired by private collectors and art lovers from Lithuania, America, Switzerland, England, Ireland, Denmark and Germany. A private collector of nudes has acquired 10 paintings.
