Egidijus Godliauskas, a painter who lives and works in Joniškis.
"I try to express emotions in my canvases. I use abstract forms of painting to express my feelings as if in a diary. I create abstract expressionist paintings using various techniques. I use brushes of all sizes, from the smallest to the broadest construction brush, as well as spatulas and other tools that come to hand. I use all kinds of painting tools to make my paintings as interesting and expressive as possible. I don't plan my compositions in advance, everything is born as if by itself, by standing in front of the canvas and trying to fill the white space with colour. It's so insistent to be painted over... I have no choice. I never know what will happen - I am only a mediator, relaying the premonitions that have taken over me and creating another, unknown reality. Everything I create is about me. Through myself, through my experiences, I filter the images I have seen or create the images to come. Some images appear suddenly and spontaneously on the canvas, others I carry around for a long time, keep, mature and wait for the moment when I can let them go, paint them, pour them out."
