Help

My name is Arnoldas Švenčionis. I was born in Kaunas 45 years ago, and for the past two decades, I have lived in Vilnius. My artistic path began after I finished my service in the Soviet army in 1985, when I enrolled at the Vilnius Art Academy to study sculpture.

After graduating in 1991, I participated in an important competition to design a commemorative coin marking the anniversary of the "Re-establishment of the Republic" and "Independence." My design was met with acclaim, and winning a prize brought me great encouragement to continue pursuing art.

Since then, I have focused on working with materials like granite and wood. Using a pneumatic drill eventually proved too taxing on my joints, so I found solutions by sometimes switching to a standard drill, which allowed me to keep creating without pause.

Through my work, I aim to reveal the beauty of creation, whether divine or human. I am convinced that the simplest gestures, glances, and poses can express emotions and moods more deeply than words. Humor plays an important role in my work and is often present in my pieces. I wish everyone good spirits and robust health!
