More about this artwork

The painting displays a collection of vividly colored, stylized images arranged in a grid pattern on a white background. The images seem to represent various elements of daily life and emotions tied to routine work life. Starting from the top, there is a clock showing 9:00, followed by a stylized male face with a mustache and glasses, suggesting a typical office worker. Next to these are two coffee mugs, possibly symbolizing the reliance on caffeine. Below this row, there are three sets of lips, each varying slightly in expression, conveying talking or communicating, set next to images that resemble mute icons, showing silence or suppression. Next to these are symbols of smoking, suggesting stress or breaks. Moving further down, there are illustrations of crossed out envelopes, possibly indicating missed or ignored communications. The subsequent row features a drawing of an animal, resembling a horse or donkey, which might symbolize labor or burden, and next to it are more smoking symbols. The last row includes more hand gestures and a skull, possibly depicting a sense of mortality or the fatality of mundane, repetitive work. The final item in the row is another clock, this time showing 5:00, marking the end of the typical workday. The overall array and selection of images evoke a narrative of everyday occupational life, its rhythm, and its emotional and physical impacts.

Artist

"I've always been close to the theme of the city," says the artist, and it is the city that you will see in most of his works. The artist is interested in the transformations of the city, the changes in its landscape, the interaction of its elements, the relationship between man and the city. The author disagrees with the statement that various logos, advertisements and signs are visual pollution. For him, it is a part of the city that deserves to be equally present in a work of art. The chosen technique of aerosol paints and stencils, which is more often found in street art decorating cities than on canvas, is perfectly suited to such an ambition. The artist has been developing this technique for more than ten years and you won't find any analogues either in Lithuania or abroad.
