More about this artwork

The painting portrays an abstract interaction between a snail and a fantastic creature. The snail is depicted with a coiled and segmented shell, highlighted with rings of whites and browns, giving it an organic and earthy feel. Beside it, a fantastical creature appears composed of a conglomeration of colorful, mosaic-like forms. These forms blend an array of browns, oranges, blues, and whites, reminiscent of both natural and mystical origins. Between them, streaks of white and grey paint shoot across the space, symbolizing either a clash or communication. The background is predominantly white, drawing all focus to the vivid and complex central figures.

Artist

I was born in 1968 in Šalčininkai, the childhood I spent in Anykščiai, since 1979 - in Vilnius. In 1989 I graduated from Telšiai Applied Arts Technical School, Artistic Stone specialty. I returned to Vilnius, where I live and work.
My work related with the design and stone, because sometimes I create sculptures from stone. But my biggest passion is painting. I paint since childhood. Favorite painting technique - oil paints. In painting process I experiment, let the emotions flow freely. I do not constrain myself into stylistic frames, forms of expression, so the paintings are different. Some mood, vision, idea or feeling, and sometimes dreams influence future work.
