More about this artwork

The painting displays a stark, monochromatic leopard, its form stenciled in black over a textured background of numerous circles, mimicking the appearance of pebbles or cells under a microscope, varying in size and shades of gray and white. The leopard appears almost camouflaged within this field of circular motifs, which morph from dense and tightly packed at the top, to larger, more defined rings towards the bottom, eventually darkening into solid black circles that underline the creature. The background's pervasive organic circular pattern contrasts with the wild, natural essence of the leopard, and might suggest themes of nature versus the artificial, or the animal's adaptability to an ever-encroaching human environment.
