Rimantas Galeckas lives and works in Alytus. Member of many international plein-airs and exibitions. His paintings found home in France, Germany, Poland, USA. He spends summers painting one of the most beautiful landscapes of Lithuania – Curonian Spit. He has crossed the Baltic Sea by yacht several times. After visiting Denmark, Germany, Poland, the great impressions of these voyages are restored in the paintings as views of visited cities and ports.
„His works are ideas of symbols, signs, and conversation which revolve around a sacral and mysterious myth. The author favours luxurious golden, silver, scarlet, and blue colours, which glow, concealing in shadows visions of a semi-metaphysical world. A conection with the viewer and feedback are significant to the artist. This is subconscious talking, a painted flow of thoughts. On the one hand it is a game, on the other it is therapy, a session of hypnosis. You never know what you are able to tell. Figures of people, birds, or other creatures are at a loss featuring a dimension of insanity. They are as if immersed in anxiety and anticipation, which intrigues, leaving room for the viewer‘s imagination.
