More about this artwork

The painting depicts a large, majestic tree standing prominently at the center. Its thick trunk and sprawling branches dominate the scene, reaching up and outwards. The branches are filled with small, human-like figures, which add a vibrant and mystical quality to the tree. These figures seem to be involved in various animate activities, blurring the line between nature and humanity.Beneath the tree, a soft, muted landscape unfolds where more figures appear to meander or gather in groups. A subtle reflection of the central tree can be seen below, suggesting the presence of water or a mirror-like surface, adding to the painting’s dreamlike atmosphere. On the right, a quaint castle or large house sits atop a slightly elevated mound, surrounded by smaller structures, possibly a village.A bridge connects the foreground to the midground, leading towards the tree. The atmosphere is calm and ethereal, painted in primarily monochromatic tones of gray, brown, and cream, with occasional touches of orange in the figures' attire which give life and warmth to the otherwise tranquil and somewhat somber palette. The overall effect is serene, with a touch of surrealism, inviting contemplation about the relationship between humans and nature.

Vytautas Koženiauskas Norberto born in 1958. Citizen of Kaunas in the 4th generation, who has a wonderful family. Since 2010 a member of Lithuanian Union of Craftsmen and Artists.

I was fond of drawing and painting since childhood, and remember myself doing it everywhere even during math lessons.

When my children got older I started to paint on canvas and finally could find more time for my passion.

I was eager to create my own technique using different paints, earth, clay, herbs, rust, paper and wood. So this was the way I made my paintings. Nowadays I still prefer my own technique.

The highest appreciation for me is when people decorate their houses with my paintings which inspires me to create futher.
