More about this artwork

In the painting, a serene yet somber landscape unfurls under a clear sky with echoes of blue and gentle hues of beige. At the core of this scene, a sculpture-like figure of a woman, partly submerged in water, holds an overflown vessel from which water cascades in silken threads into a dark pool below. Her expression is contemplative, almost melancholic, underlined by the surreal calmness of her environment. To her right, arid land stretches towards a distant water body, anchored by sharp, jagged rocks that pierce the horizon. Nearby, two large, cracked vessels lay abandoned in the sand, perhaps once filled, now left empty and desolate. High above this earthly scene, a faint orb hovers, possibly a diminutive sun or moon, shedding a subdued light and adding an element of mystery to this quiet, introspective tableau. The mood is ethereal, punctuated by the stark contrast between the life-giving essence of water and the barren landscape around.

Emilija Šileikaitė (2001)is art creator, conservator and restorer. She started practicing and sharing his paintings in 2016. Since then, he has organized personal and group exhibitions, gathered a group of private art collectors in Lithuania and the foreign market and developed her personal style, which is expressed through the prism of surrealism. In the paintings, it is not uncommon to see animals depicted in which human emotions can be felt, and the whole basis of the picture is often minimal, talking about nature without directly showing it. In her works, the author often tries to convey the emotions and misunderstandings of modern and old world women. Also, the painter is engaged in art conservation and restoration in Lithuania and abroad. She restored lamps, furniture, paintings, gilding, contributed to the restoration of a 16th century wall sculpture in one of Lisbon's museums.
