More about this artwork

The painting showcases a rich, textured surface with a dominantly dark palette, interspersed with highlights of vibrant orange and subtle hints of blue and purple. The texture seems rough, almost organic, resembling the rugged terrain of a volcanic landscape or the craggy surface of an extraterrestrial body. The central feature appears to be a glowing fissure, emitting an intense orange light that seems to pulsate with warmth against the cooler, shadowy surroundings. This central glow is framed by an irregular, labyrinthine outline, giving the impression of a fiery crack on a darkened surface. The overall effect is both mysterious and captivating, evoking a sense of dynamic movement within the stillness of the composition.

Artist

The artist reveals in her work various states of mind that inspire her to create. Having received her Master of Arts degree from the Vilnius Academy of Arts, Department of Native Art, and having participated in various art projects and exhibitions, the artist takes risks to create in new and unexplored ways of expression.

The author of interdisciplinary art, in her monumental paintings, graphic and easel paintings, usually emphasises the motif of connection, which connects our thoughts, ideas and feelings.

Searching for answers in her inner world, she observes nature under a microscope, looks at the earth from the clouds and reflects on it in the visual language of the art. Aiva's entire oeuvre is partly based on the idea of an intangible connection, like a network of fungi through which we communicate. The artist depicts not only the connection between humans or other animals, but also the connection to uncharted and unseen worlds. Her work is characterised by intuitiveness, subtle colour layering and versatility.

She has had several solo exhibitions, has participated in various creative projects, as well as group exhibitions.
