More about this artwork

The painting features an abstract landscape dominated by fluid, sweeping shapes and a blend of vivid and muted colors. The upper portion is cast in shades of grey and blue, suggesting a moody sky or water surface, with sinuous lines hinting at waves or distant hills. Below this, the composition bursts into a rich tapestry of colors—bright yellows, deep reds, soft greens, and a touch of pink—that swirl together in dynamic forms. These organic shapes might represent terrestrial features such as fields, hills, or a floral arrangement, imbued with an emotional intensity that could symbolize the 'pressure' of the title. The overall texture is rough and expressive, with visible brush strokes and markings that add a tactile quality to the scene.

I was born in 1970  in Panevėžys. In 1991 I came to Kaunas, where I studied and acquired higher education. From 1996 I live and work in Kaunas district. Since 2014 I have participated in painting symposiums and group exhibitions.

I am interested in the world of art since I was a child, but I dared to paint myself only a few years agoAfter long searches and  visiting various art schools I found my way into the art studio of a well-known artist Antanas Obcarskas. I began to attend his workshop and continue walking on razor's blades of creative pleasure and suffering.

After having learned the secrets of painting I enjoy strokes of expressive abstraction, creative outbursts, because for me, only painting can give a golden opportunity to feel “here and now” and to break free.

When I discovered painting I intuitively started to follow “tasting with the inside” style: go, listen, see, smell, taste and touch. I am like a “sponge” of all these senses and all of this transforms into my canvases and my art.
