More about this artwork

The artwork features a textured surface nuanced with layers of gray, black, and earthy tones, creating a moody and atmospheric composition. Dark, almost charcoal-like drippings cascade downwards against lighter backdrops of soft golden yellows that peek through the predominantly dark colors, suggesting depth and movement. The interplay of light and shadow conjured by the textural contrasts exudes a dynamic yet harmonious aesthetic. Brightness, when it does surface, beckons like patches of warmth or soft glimmers, unique as if filtered through an opaque screen. The tactile qualities of the paint suggest the crystalline aspect of sugar mingling with the deep, rich tones of espresso—a visual metaphor that aligns with the painting's title.

Artist

I became interested in art and design at an early age. I don't remember my first drawing, but the desire to create drew me into a never-ending creative process that continues to this day. Creativity has always been important to me as a means of self-expression, as a way to express and reveal myself. A thought, an idea, is the engine of creative energy that never stops halfway.

In my work I pay a lot of attention to graphic expression. The main tools used to make my works are ink and pen. I am interested in illustration, which influences the style of each of my works. In my paintings, the viewer can be transported to a different, unseen, undiscovered world full of fantasy and mystery. My inspiration comes from my surroundings, nature, flora and fauna, the people I interact with, human relationships, emotions and situations from my life.

In 2004 I graduated from Šiauliai University, Faculty of Arts. Since 2005 I have been actively participating in exhibitions.
