More about this artwork

The painting depicts an ethereal, surreal landscape merging organic and mechanical elements under a moodily overcast sky. The horizon is divided into layers of muted turquoise and blue, suggesting bodies of water receding into the distance beneath a flow of heavy, grey clouds. Dominating the upper right corner is a large, pale sphere, possibly a moon or sun, barely visible through the haze. Attached to this celestial object by a thin, curving tether is a profile of a humanoid figure, rendered in a ghostly white, almost blending into the sky, hovering or floating above the landscape. The lower half of the painting is filled with an amalgamation of mechanical and natural forms, merging as if in a state of organic decay or technological assimilation. These forms suggest parts of machines, vehicles, perhaps remnants of a collapsed civilization, intertwined with what appear to be bones and natural debris. The colors in this section are earthy, with muted shades of brown, ochre, and hints of rust, contrasting with the cooler tones of the sky and water.Overall, the scene elicits a sense of post-apocalyptic serenity, where nature and human impact are ambiguously blended, creating a dream-like or other-worldly atmosphere. The mood is contemplative, inviting speculation on the relationship between human existence and the natural world.

Vakarė Armonaitė (b. 2002) is a representative of the new generation of Lithuanian graphic artists and painters, now studying toward a Bachelor's degree in Graphic art In Vilnius Academy of Arts.

Vakarė has been actively improving her skills in the art field since the year 2018. After she had graduated from Kaunas Antanas Martinaitis art school, she joined a special creative group of postgraduates in order to learn more. Later she continued to shape her artistic expression individually and in private studios with artists Rimantas Aitmanas and Lukas Eugenijus Kolmogorcevas (2019).

From the year 2020 Vakarė has engaged in creative painting and drawing studios led by Vilnius Academy of Arts, and from the year 2021 she is a student of VAA Graphic Art Bachelor's program. Since then she has been creating her own projects and presenting them in personal exhibitions in open spaces.

Vakarė's creative style could be described as free and bright-colored. Her depicted objects are often more abstract than real, which engages with the viewer. Her art not only helps to connect with an observer, it also becomes a way of presenting herself to the public.
