About the author
"My work is mostly rooted somewhere in (art/cultural) history, but it is always inevitably confronted with the present - the screens, the virtual, the global. I often look for a resonance with the feelings I am experiencing in order to make sense of them, so my work is really "personal", but maybe I am looking for consolation, "maybe I am not alone in this?". Often I use intuition to create, composing with independent objects, listening to their harmony. The creative process is a dreaming process, rather than a dream come true, so I get to know what no one else has seen at the same time as me. Wit is very important," says the young artist about his work.
Martynas' paintings are expressive, born in the here and now, with a strong impulse. It has a strong sense of the present, of man's relationship with the modern, fast-changing world. Often when looking at his paintings, one gets the impression of how much there is - how many different objects, brushstrokes, colours are combined into one whole, but it perfectly reflects both our current world and the complex inner world of the human being.
