About the author
Rūta Budėnaitė is an artist whose love for art took root in her early years. Surrounded by a family of artists, she closely observed their creative workflows, watching as they drew and painted. Motivated by these relatives, she enthusiastically attempted to imitate their activities, even going so far as to color on the walls with pencils, bringing art into her immediate environment.
Her fascination with art deepened through formal schooling, culminating in her graduation from the Kaunas Art Gymnasium. This experience gave her the opportunity to approach art on a professional level, immerse herself in its primary movements, and experiment with different techniques. During this time, she encountered a particular method that resonated with her, playing an important role in forming her distinctive artistic style.
After finishing her studies at the Art Gymnasium, Rūta Budėnaitė decided to pursue a path in interior design. Nevertheless, her devotion to drawing remained unchanged, and she continues to devote much of her time to it. For Rūta, creativity is more than just a profession or a hobby—it has become a fundamental part of her everyday existence.
Surreal and sometimes abstract figures often come to life in Rūta Budėnaitė's pieces. Her method of creation is both intuitive and spontaneous, and she does not always start with a definite image of the result. Because of this, her paintings frequently mirror her emotional state, capturing transient moods or waves of nostalgia through their expressive shapes.
