The painting depicts a serene and somewhat moody nocturnal landscape. On the left side, a single tree stands prominently, its trunk sturdy and dark against the softer background. Its leaves are brushed in a gentle dark green, creating a contrast with the dim light that seems to seep through the branches. Behind this tree, more foliage clusters together, forming a dark, dense thicket that stretches across the canvas.In the background, underneath what appears to be a dusky or perhaps early night sky, a stretch of land or water reflects a lighter color, hinting at a hidden luminescence underneath the heavy sky. This horizon line is met by a deep purple and blue sky, adding a layer of mystery and depth to the scene. Two distant silhouettes resembling trees or perhaps bushes break the horizon line subtly.The right portion of the painting is dominated by a sprawling open space that fades from a deep frosty blue to lighter shades, suggesting a vast, untouched snowy field in the dim moonlight or early pre-dawn hours. This expanse is unmarked except for two small circular tables, which could be picnic tables, quietly resting in the distance, covered in snow and untouched by the dim surrounding light. I am a painter from Lithuania, currently studying in a master’s program at the Vilnius Academy of Arts (VAA). In the creation of a painting, I find space for a possible connection with others. I use the painted images as a means of communication, as the visual language seems to be able to express certain feelings more honestly. My paintings, in a way can be seen as a small keyhole through which others can glimpse into my perceived world and maybe see their own reflections looking back.
So far, I have organized two personal exhibitions, the first one being "Play dead" which took place in the memorial museum of Beatrice Grincevičiūtė. In 2022, I participated in the student exchange program with the French art school École Supérieure d'Art et de Design in Reims. The paintings that were created during the studies in France later were presented at the second personal exhibition "in Transit" in Vilnius library, Pilaitė branch.
My works have been displayed in the "Menas be stogo" project held by JCDecaux. Together with coursemates, we held a group exhibition "Krateris" in the VAA gallery "Kreatoriumas/ Meno krosnys". I have also participated in the mobile exhibition "Aktuali kultūra", as well as a virtual group exhibition "Physical spaces: virtual connections" and a group exhibition "Po vieną" in the VAA exhibition space "Tapybos koridorius".
