More about this artwork

The painting depicts a richly textured and colorful scene. In the foreground, a large jar dominates the left side, filled with swirling reds and blues, and adorned with what might be flower motifs on its lid. On the right, two figures, possibly a child and an adult or two young individuals, stand close together. The child faces forward, showing a calm, slightly contemplative expression with pale features, while the other figure, with their back towards us, has dark hair and wears a white shirt, offering a comforting embrace.Scattered around the scene are items that suggest a personal grooming moment: hair strands, a pair of scissors, and a comb, all depicted with a somewhat abstract, gestural style. These elements, combined with vibrant, warm colors dominating the background, create an intimate atmosphere, suggesting themes of growth, change, and care. The background seems to glow with a fiery hue that enhances the emotional depth of the scene, framing this moment of personal transformation with an almost otherworldly ambiance.

Help

I am a painter whose works have been displayed at multiple local exhibitions here in Lithuania. My technique primarily involves the use of watercolour and oil on canvas, combined to get an aesthetically pleasing synergy of colour and form. Living in an animal farm deep within Lithuanian countryside, surrounded by velvet lakes and untamed woods, my inspiration comes from nature, local folktales and fantasies they arouse. I am inspired by my personal experiences, some, as an artist in Lithuanian countryside, and thus when asked to explain my imagery I often find myself at a loss, unable to ascribe a single source of meaning. I graduated from the National School of Art and in 2008 I was awarded the Master of Arts by Vilnius Academy of Arts in Lithuania.
