More about this artwork

The painting displays a vibrant street scene set in what appears to be an old European city. The architecture is gracefully aged, with buildings exhibiting faded and peeling stucco in shades of pale yellow and sienna. There is a prominent structure, possibly a church or a cathedral, characterized by a bell tower with Gothic-style windows and pointed arches. The sky above is loosely represented, gesturing towards a grey, overcast day.On the left side of the painting, laundry is vividly hung out to dry, adding a stroke of everyday life and movement with items like a bright blue sheet catching the viewer's eye. Below, people are strolling through the narrow street that winds between the buildings. A couple in the foreground, sketched with minimal detail, provides a human element to the scene, suggesting a moment captured as they pass by.The overall impression is one of dynamic urban life, portrayed with a palette that balances the neutral tones of the buildings with pops of color from the laundry and other small details, like red flowers on a balcony railing, lending the scene a lively yet somewhat nostalgic atmosphere.

Artist

Eugis Eidukaitis was born in Russia, Sibir on November, 1965 in a family of Lithuanian
exile. He grew up and spent big part of his life in Moldova, Chisinau. First touch to art started
there in Chisinau art school. Artist ended University and got medicine diplome, but art and
paintings were always a hobby and sometimes source of livelihood.
In 2000 he came back to Lithuania and started to draw and paint even more. Art became
constat thing in life.

His favourite genre is the urban or natural landscape, but he is not tempted to romanticise or embellish them. Nevertheless, one can sense that his view of reality is forgiving and gentle. He looks for a distinctive beauty in each motif, which is revealed through the contrast of light and shadow, the vivid, soft colours.

Paintings and watercolor adorn dozens of private collections.
