More about this artwork

The painting depicts a lively quayside scene rendered in a bold, expressive style. A sandy foreground stretches broadly across the canvas, leading to a body of water glimpsed on the left side. At the center and right of the composition, parts of a boat or ship emerge, characterized by chunky, irregular shapes painted in grays and whites, complemented by hints of red and yellow detailing. Anchoring the scene is the quay, accented with light gray and streaks of black suggesting railings or barriers. Notable too are several abstract elements like a cylindrical object and what might be lamp posts, all stylized with thick, rapid brush strokes. The background features a muted landscape with subtle green and blue tones, possibly depicting trees and sky, enhancing the sense of an outdoor maritime setting. The overall effect is vibrant and somewhat abstract, focusing more on the play of color and form than on detailed representation.
