More about this artwork

In this work of art, a sunlit bird is depicted holding a butterfly within its beak. The bird, cast in shades of brown and soft yellow, sits amidst lush foliage that furls and unfurls around it, resonating with life and gentle movement. The butterfly, with its vividly patterned wings in hues of yellow and black, appears delicate in the bird's grasp. This painting is steeped in a peaceful yet poignant ambiance, highlighting the interplay between predator and prey within nature’s delicate balance. The flora, shaded with greens and pops of soft purple and pink, adds depth and vibrance to the scene, elevating the overall visual symphony of survival and grace.

I am from Kaunas. In 1996 I graduated studies of graphics at St. Žukas Technical School of Applied Arts. Later I continued studies at VDA Kaunas Institute of Art, at Cathedral of Applied Graphics. In 2002 I gained Master  degree of Arts.

Perhaps influenced by graphics speciality I create small scenes with many different details. I place them carefully like a small puzzle. Nature inspire the creation by it’s colours, images, abundance of life and forms. So in my works dominate plants and birds. I work with mineral paints, watercolour, tempera.
