About the author
While nowadays in the art world the aim is often to provoke, to evoke the strongest possible emotion, Vytautas Poška goes the opposite way and creates a sense of calm.
Most of his works are more or less abstract landscapes, in which the places depicted are hard to relate to a specific point on the map, but rather feel as if they have already been seen and experienced, like a name hanging on the tip of your tongue, something you know for sure, but can't quite put your finger on. Space and time become infinite here. The images, which carry no plot, no tangible narrative, direct the mind into a kind of meditation.
The sense of tranquillity is also contributed to by the transparent, pastel colour palette, which is only occasionally invaded by brighter shades and light, impulsive, but at the same time assured brushstrokes, blurring the line between the abstract and the concrete.
We recommend these tranquil works for those wishing to decorate a bedroom space or bring more harmony to the overall spaces of the home.
