Raimonda Petraitė (born 1992), professionally recognized as Mone Kielė, is a contemporary figurative painter whose artistic focus revolves around oil and enamel mediums. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in painting from the Kaunas Faculty of the Vilnius Academy of Arts. In addition, she broadened her academic foundation by completing pedagogical studies at the Faculty of Philosophy, Vilnius University, where she obtained her teaching qualifications.
Residing in Vilnius, Mone Kielė often journeys back to her rural origins in the Ukmergė district to pursue her creative work. This ongoing movement between urban and countryside environments emerges as a persistent motif in her paintings, as she combines depictions of contemporary figures with features of Lithuanian nature. Through this blend, the artist investigates the influence of modern life on states of being, employing irony to reflect on societal norms and values.
A critical inquiry into the notion of beauty and the delicate threshold dividing what is deemed socially acceptable or unacceptable in human appearance stands at the heart of her artistic exploration. By setting urban and rural motifs in dialogue, Kielė examines the fluid boundaries of perception in today’s world and challenges conventional views related to physical appearance.
Mone Kielė has showcased her artwork in six solo exhibitions throughout Lithuania and the Czech Republic. She also frequently contributes to group exhibitions, and her paintings are included in private collections both in Lithuania and abroad.
