More about this artwork

In the painting "Sisters" by Lina Videckienė, two young girls are depicted standing back to back. They share similar features, suggesting they are sisters. The background blends tones of orange, yellow, and red, bringing a feeling of a sunset or a warm summer evening. The painting style is somewhat impressionistic. It features loose, expressive brushstrokes that add motion and life to the scene.Lina Videckienė’s work here captures the beauty and simplicity of childhood with a tender, almost dreamlike quality. Artist

Lina Videckienė is an artist whose creative path is characterized by continual movement and adaptability. Traveling the globe with nothing more than a roll of canvas and a compact suitcase containing paints and brushes, she breathes life into her art wherever she finds herself. The transient quality of her lifestyle gives her remarkable flexibility, directly shaping both the scale and style of her artistic output.

At present, Lina divides her life between Lithuania and Finland. This itinerant way of living often requires her to adapt to a range of environments for her artistic practice. Having left her studio in Lithuania, she has become accustomed to working in confined foreign spaces, which has led her to produce smaller-format creations whenever space is at a premium.

Nevertheless, whenever Lina gains access to a more spacious studio, she is compelled to create on a larger scale. Shifts in her surroundings influence not just the dimensions of her canvases but also offer her renewed inspiration and the liberty to fully realize her artistic intentions. Her devotion to painting is reflected in her unwavering commitment to create, no matter the circumstances.

For Lina, seeing each piece of her art find a new home brings deep honor and inspiration. She cherishes the personal relationships that develop with those who decide to live with her paintings. This continuing interaction between artist and viewer drives her to persist in exploring, creating, and sharing her art beyond geographic boundaries.
