Artist
When one sees a bright work in the gallery, constructed of contrasting colour spots, united by a strong line of drawing, it is immediately clear that this is Kristina Asinavičiūtė's work, the drawing is memorable and not to be confused with anything else. The author usually chooses motifs from nature, animals, plants and often everyday life, united by a distinctive sense of humour and a mood created by the artist, as if we had entered a tiny enclave of everyday life, where time stands still. At first glance, a simple moment or a familiar Lithuanian landscape turns into the meaning of human existence. It is not for nothing that the art critic A. Seilienė has called Kristina's painting "The Art of Being".

An important part of the paintings' codes of meaning are the titles, which add charm to the seemingly calm landscapes and still lifes of routine. They encourage the viewer to look not only at the work, but also at his or her own everyday life from a different angle.

Although the young artist graduated from the VDA's Bachelor of Graphic Arts in 2018, she has already had several solo exhibitions. The most recent one, titled "Minties aveniu", took place at the Pylimo Gallery and received not only favourable feedback from art critics, but also media interest. In 2017, Kristina was awarded at the international competition of A. Švėgžda. Not surprisingly, Kristina's works have already been acquired by art collectors in the USA, the United Kingdom and Germany.
