Aleksandras Jaremčiukas, an artist based in Vilnius, is distinguished for his original method of painting, particularly within the surrealist genre. His artworks are notable for the inventive fusion of elements that might initially seem incompatible, producing narratives that may first appear absurd yet ultimately fascinate the observer. Aleksandras’s curiosity leads him to explore multiple artistic disciplines; in addition to painting, he is actively involved in restoration, iconography, and interior design, underscoring his versatility far beyond his work on canvas.
His artistic scope spans traditional genres, including still life and landscape. He has gained particular acclaim for his ability to emulate the techniques of the old masters. Aleksandras believes that academic drawing provides the essential foundation for compelling visual art, allowing him to communicate his concepts clearly to his audience. He places great value on composition and color, asserting that the foremost aim of any painting is to offer an aesthetic experience, with deeper meanings and content being of secondary concern.
Aleksandras Jaremčiukas continually extends creative limits by trying out various painting genres, exploring different textures, and employing diverse drawing techniques. Even with this adventurous approach, surrealism remains his primary artistic focus and the field in which he has found significant achievement. Thanks to his remarkable skill and unique vision, his art has received praise both in Lithuania and abroad, with his works represented in private collections and adorning homes throughout several European nations.
Throughout his artistic journey, Aleksandras has taken part in numerous exhibitions, both solo and group, further solidifying his standing in the art world. Noteworthy among these are his solo exhibition at the "Amatininkų" gallery in Vilnius in 2000, as well as participation in group exhibitions such as "Elipsa" at the House of Poles, the "Christmas evenings" at the salon-gallery "Daile," and international events fostering cultural exchange. These achievements highlight his commitment and lasting influence within the contemporary art community.
