Jurgita Buterlevičienė, a professional artist originally from Vilnius, Lithuania, completed her studies at the esteemed Vilnius Academy of Arts. Currently, she lives and works near Birštonas, where she infuses her creations with a thoughtful sensitivity toward her subjects. Her artistic path is marked by an ongoing exploration of nature and its constant transformations, drawing deep inspiration from the fields, water, and ever-changing seasons that envelop her environment.
Her paintings are distinguished by a methodical build-up of brushstrokes, reminiscent of words gradually forming a narrative. Jurgita’s works frequently examine the play between light and shadow, employing subdued and melancholic colors to set a tone of introspection and calm. Her landscapes often verge on the abstract, encouraging viewers to approach the pieces reflectively and to find instances of peace and equilibrium within them.
The art of Jurgita Buterlevičienė is notable for its richly layered compositions, which disclose their depths over time and invite extended contemplation. This slow revelation prompts viewers not only to engage with the artist’s concepts but also to reflect on their own inner experiences. As one delves deeper into her works, there is an opportunity to encounter nuanced details and feelings that may resonate with personal memories or emotions.
Deeply engaged in the art community, Jurgita showcases her paintings both independently and as part of group exhibitions throughout Lithuania and internationally.
