Jordanian Waters

Daliutė Ivanauskaitė (b. 1958) is a prominent Lithuanian artist acclaimed for her achievements in printmaking, small-scale graphics, ex-libris, and calligraphy. Beyond her creative practice, she has made notable contributions as a compiler of art books, designer of graphic projects, exhibition curator, and editor of art catalogues. Her educational journey began at the J. Naujalis Secondary Art School in Kaunas, and she completed her studies in graphics at the Vilnius Academy of Arts (formerly VDI) in 1983. Ivanauskaitė has been an active exhibition participant since 1984 and joined the Lithuanian Artists’ Association in 1988.

Ivanauskaitė’s professional path has been distinguished by wide international recognition and prolific exhibition activity. She has shown her works in more than thirty countries, participating in nearly a hundred international and group exhibitions, and has mounted over twenty solo exhibitions in places such as Lithuania, the USA, Germany, Scotland, and Spain. Her engagement on the world stage has helped highlight both Lithuanian printmaking traditions and innovations in contemporary visual art.

The artist has received multiple awards at international graphic art exhibitions. Among her distinctions, she earned a prize at the 39th Mini Print International of Cadaques, Spain, in 2019. In 2012, she was granted the 1st Grand Prize Raimundo Cela in Sobral, Brazil, and received a diploma at the international ex-libris exhibition "Donelaitis – 300" in Vilnius. Such accolades reflect the high esteem for her technical expertise and artistic vision worldwide.

Daliutė Ivanauskaitė’s artworks are held in notable collections across Lithuania and internationally, including the Lithuanian National Museum, Lithuanian National Art Museum, Sakimi Museum of Art in Okinawa, Instituto ECOA in Brazil, and institutions throughout Europe and the Americas. Art critic G. Gurnevičiūtė has described her linocuts as conjuring a realm of profound ideas and emotion: abstract shapes and subtle tones foster a meditative dialogue with nature and with the self. Through her art, Ivanauskaitė invites viewers on a poetic exploration, guiding them deeper into visual contemplation.
