Dovilė Pakštienė is a young artist whose creative outlook is closely bound to the interplay between transcendent spiritual life and human existence. Her artwork demonstrates an acute awareness of the innate, almost instinctual longing within people to seek truth. By means of her art, Dovilė investigates subjects that dissolve the boundary between what is real and what is metaphysical, inviting viewers into a space of reflection.
Meditative and transformative elements appear frequently throughout her creations, often conjuring images or landscapes that pose questions about existence and being. She employs abstract motifs to convey elusive concepts—ideas that are intangible and remain just out of grasp, akin to anticipations of realities that are both near and concealed. This method infuses her work with a sense of enigma and profundity.
The subtle layering found in Dovilė’s paintings and drawings builds images that recall fleeting visions—passing glimpses that remain forever partially hidden. Her technique of layering generates a mood of dreamy introspection, encouraging viewers to participate in a journey of revelation and interpretation. The images open up slowly, rewarding careful and repeated attention.
Dovilė compares her creative process to drawing forms out of a thick mist, where each stroke and shade gradually shapes meanings that surface over time. The act of returning to her art, searching for what was previously unnoticed, forms the essence of her philosophy. For Dovilė, creating art is the process of manifesting the invisible—transforming personal impressions and “imprints of being” into fragile yet striking images, always allowing space for the observer’s own contemplation.
