Petras Kardokas enjoys travelling and observing nature in various parts of Lithuania. This is where the author's inspiration for his paintings comes from. The artist captures our landscapes as if in a visual diary, at different times of the day and year, but his paintings always retain an impression of calm, warmth and cosiness. The artist's gaze is gentle, respectful and slightly romantic.
He was born in Lazdijai district. I graduated from school in the town of Mosėdis.
In 1968-1973 studied at the Faculty of Construction-Architecture of KPJ.
After graduation he worked as a foreman in various Lithuanian construction sites.
In the evenings, fulfilling a childhood dream, he began to study painting at A. Martinaicis Art School, under painter Alfonsas Vilpišauskas.
Finally, since 1990, he has devoted all his time to painting.
