More about this artwork

The painting showcases a vibrant, red rose at the center, rendered with thick, textured brush strokes that give it a dynamic and almost three-dimensional appearance. The petals of the rose are luxuriously layered, each stroke adding depth and intensity to its color. Surrounding the central bloom are hints of smaller buds and blooms in varying stages of openness, primarily in shades of red with touches of white. The background and the spaces between the flowers are filled with broad, abstracted sweeps of dark and olive greens, suggesting the foliage that commonly accompanies roses. The colors are bold and the contrasts strong, creating a dynamic interplay between the vivid reds of the flowers and the cool dark tones of the leaves.

Artist

Dina Jankauskienė is an artist located in Kaunas, Lithuania, the city of her birth and where she continues to reside. Since childhood, drawing and painting have captivated her, forming the foundation of her creative path. For Dina, painting is an indispensable part of life, and her works reveal a deeply personal connection to her environment and experiences.

Floral subjects, architectural elements, and abstract forms are prominent throughout Dina’s oeuvre. She also finds pleasure in delving into the complexities of portraiture, frequently experimenting with various styles and techniques within this genre. Her paintings are distinguished by bright, vibrant colors that infuse each piece with energy and presence. These bold hues are often balanced with gentle pastels, resulting in a lively visual contrast that animates her work.

Though many of her florals and landscapes are rendered with realism, Dina’s painting style is unmistakably impressionistic. Her brushstrokes, swift but deliberate, convey both motion and feeling while preserving distinct forms. Through this method, her subjects—particularly flowers—seem bursting with life and immediacy, leaving a strong visual and emotional impression on viewers.

Dina Jankauskienė has presented her art at numerous exhibitions in Lithuania as well as in Hagen, Germany. Her pieces have been acquired by collectors and enthusiasts in the USA, Iceland, Norway, England, and Germany, underscoring the widespread resonance and appeal of her art.
