More about this artwork

In the painting, a figure is portrayed with a hand dramatically clasped over their eyes, the expression on their face a blend of strain and contemplation. Bathed in hues of blue and white, the figure's skin and features are rendered with subtle shifts in color, suggesting the play of light and shadow. The background, rendered in a hazy, monochrome blue, consists of textural strokes that intimate a wall or perhaps water, enhancing the overall sense of immersion. The overall effect is one of emotional intensity and vulnerability, captured within a moment of private reflection or catharsis.

Professional graphic designer, regularly involved in various projects and book illustrations. She has also completed a Master's degree in Art Therapy, which has only encouraged her to further combine contrasts, i.e. portraiture and abstraction.

Neringa's work often features very familiar lines, silhouettes and angles, but also the unexpected, the freedom of the stain, the spontaneous brushstroke or stroke. All the contrasting combinations allow the artist to be more open to experimentation in her work, to reveal in an original way the themes of loneliness, melancholy, and the relationship with oneself and with others that accompany her work. Neringa's characters often turn away from the viewer or look at this reality with eyes that do not see it, emphasising their self-absorption and that the real action is not outside, but inside them.
