More about this artwork

The painting features a roughly outlined, stylized illustration of a coffeehouse facade. Dominated by hues of pink and brown, the artwork depicts the word "KAFFE" boldly across what appears to be a shop front. Above the main sign, there is a more disorderly array of elements including different spellings of the word "coffee" in various languages like "KAFFE," "CAFFE," and "COFFEE," arranged in a banner-like fashion. Abstract patterns and geometric shapes, particularly diamonds and circles, are interspersed throughout this upper segment. In the backdrop, splotches and washes of pink paint create an uneven, textured background that lends a whimsical, dreamlike quality to the scene. Small, dotted embellishments trail along the bottom edge, contributing to the artwork's eclectic, collage-inspired aesthetic.

I graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts in 2005 with a degree in painting. I have been intensively involved in artistic activities, won an art competition in Lithuania and went to present my paintings at the Italian Biennale. I participate in group exhibitions and I am also organising my own solo painting exhibitions. My work travels all over the world.

I distinguish two periods in the history of my work: the early period and the current "About People". The early phase is my past period of painting, a reflection of what is important to me: colour relationships, brushstrokes, the search for reflective ways of painting turned into an expressive minimalism. With colours and brushstrokes I was exploring nothingness, trying to reveal that our everyday life has not been discovered to infinity.

My current phase of work is "About the people around me". I paint about their experiences, emotions and how I see them or feel myself among them.
