Painting in the room
"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+
This painting features a mix of bold and dynamic strokes. It shows an abstract depiction of everyday objects, perhaps cups and utensils, blended into the background. The dominant blue color creates a dreamy, ocean-like setting. Streaks of white and yellow add contrast and depth. Kristina Česonytė uses an expressive style. Her brushwork is loose and energetic. Each mark contributes to a lively, textured surface that seems to vibrate with movement. The abstract form challenges viewers to interpret the scene as they see fit. The painting invites you to look closely and explore. It's all about feeling the rhythm and flow of colors on the canvas. Kristina Česonytė's work here is vibrant, making ordinary scenes feel extraordinary.
