Vidas Pinkevičius (1949-2012) was born in Gruzdžiai, Šiauliai district, Lithuania. In 1973, he graduated from Vilnius Art Institute, wall-painting-mosaic speciality. From 1973 until his death he worked in Klaipėda Adomas Brakas Children Art School).
He participated in exhibitions with oil paintings. Many of his paintings are in private collections in USA, Russia, Lithuania, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands and elsewhere. V.Pinkevičius had also taken part in more than 40 personal exhibitions in Lithuania as well as in several international art exhibitions in Russia, Sweden, and USA. V.Pinkevičius mostly painted figure compositions with mythological and symbolical themes as well as landscapes. Artist often explored motives of blossoming lonely apple-trees, gardens, green meadows in spring or grey autumn still. Lithuanian folk motives and biblical stories were also very important in his creative work. Main features of his works are expressionistic.
Four paintings are in the collection of Lithuanian Art Museum.
From 1986 he was a member of Lithuanian Artist Union.
