Kęstutis Indriūnas, a Lithuanian artist, completed his studies at Kaunas Juozas Naujalis High School in 1979. From 1980 to 1985, he attended the Kaunas Faculty of the Vilnius Academy of Arts, where he earned his degree in architectural design. These formative experiences played a significant role in developing his distinctive approach to visual art.
Indriūnas has shown a passion for drawing since his early years. While still a student, he became actively involved in the art community, displaying his graphic and pastel works at exhibitions. His art was presented in salons in Vilnius and Kaunas, as well as in shows highlighting artists from Kaunas.
Kęstutis Indriūnas' paintings are distinguished by their clear lines and the use of pure colors, often featuring a dominant single hue as a central element. He constructs his landscapes by contrasting light and shadow, dividing the scene into broad, geometric shapes. This method establishes a rhythmic visual flow and imparts a sense of harmony to his compositions.
The natural scenery of Anykščiai, the region where he was born, along with its surroundings, appears repeatedly in his work. By concentrating on these familiar landscapes and employing his distinctive artistic techniques, Indriūnas conveys the spirit of his homeland, inviting viewers to experience his close connection with the Lithuanian countryside.
