Painting in the room
"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+
This painting by Kristina Česonytė, titled "Abstraction. What's Left Behind," is quite intriguing. The canvas is largely covered in white, looking almost like a wall that's been speckled with paint over time. Dashes of blue, yellow, black, and green randomly mark the surface, adding a playful yet chaotic element to the work. The style is abstract, with no clear figures or representations. It’s almost as if Kristina used the canvas to capture spontaneous thoughts or moments. The scattered paint strokes and splatters give it a dynamic, energetic feel. Kristina Česonytė's work here is modern and expressive. She uses abstraction to invite viewers to find their own meanings or simply to experience the raw emotions conveyed through the colors and their placement. The painting feels like a moment frozen in time, subtle yet full of life.
