Artist

Ukrainian artist currently living and working in Germany.

Sky and water! So blue, so deep, so multifaceted and infinite... A great source of inspiration for an artist who likes to work with classical elements.

Victor's paintings create an impression of spatial depth. He plays with different shades of blue in relation to the sky and the water in different lighting and urban influences.

Large areas of sky and water are contrasted with detailed sails, boats and houses, where the brush almost plays the role of a coloured pencil. Particularly in the boat paintings, the sharp, purposeful contrasts of short strokes and curves reveal the hand of a great painter. The brushstrokes bring out the constant change of light, the shimmering of the air over the water, and powerfully convey the artist's gaze. Not only does the light convey the atmosphere, but the entire surface of the painting seems to glow with the intensity of the colours.

Most of the paintings were painted in Hamburg and reflect real places. Anyone who has ever been there will recognise one place or another.
